This senior citizen was making his way through the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv late one afternoon. While Israel is doing its best to accommodate the elderly, there are some who find surviving from day-to-day a struggle. With ageing, health problems and diminished strength begin to take their toll. Black & white, I feel, works more effectively for this image as it eliminates the busyness of colour. My camera was held inconspicuously at waist-height which changes the dynamic of the subject completely.
